About 413Septic.com

I built this site because I couldn't find it when I needed it.

Like a lot of people in western Massachusetts, I own a home with a septic system. And like most homeowners, I inherited a system I knew almost nothing about — when it was last pumped, whether my town had any local regulations beyond state Title 5, or which contractors actually served my area versus which ones would never return my calls.

When I started researching, I found the same frustrations over and over: Board of Health websites that hadn't been updated in years, regulation documents buried in meeting minutes from 2009, contractor listings on national sites that were outdated or just wrong, and no single place that put it all together for Franklin County.

So I built that place.

413Septic.com covers all 26 towns in Franklin County, with information on local regulations, Board of Health contacts, and contractors who actually serve the area. The contractor listings are sourced from multiple independent directories and cross-verified — not just scraped from one place. The regulation pages are sourced directly from town documents and BOH websites, with dates and sources cited.

I'm not a septic professional. I'm a web designer who went down a research rabbit hole and decided to make something useful out of it. The site is built to help homeowners make informed decisions — not to generate leads or pretend to be something it isn't.

If you're a contractor and want to claim or update your listing, reach out. If you find an error, please tell me — this information matters and I want it to be right.
